Australian cricket

“Game over, thanks very much, start the car. Australia handsomely, handsomely have won,” says Bumble on Sky Sports. Far from humiliating them, England have been beaten by the Canary Yellows, but still make it through to the Super Eight Phase of the T20 comp on run rate thanks to the big win against the Zimbos. Hayden and Gilchrist were very good, as were the Aussie bowlers, however England’s batting wasn’t that smart. Australia turned up, England didn’t. Simple.

Not that it would have made that much difference, however it may have helped if we had played our best bowler. Where was James Anderson?

Where was James Anderson?

Would you Adam and Eve it? The Zimbos have just turned over the mighty pre-tournament favourites Australia in their opening match of the International Twenty20 Championship, and with just two match each in the group stages Australia’s game against England on Friday becomes a must win for the side many thought would walk this tournament.

Zimbabwe, who in other forms of the game are so bad they are not allowed to play test cricket anymore, pulled off the surprise victory in the driving rain. Brendan Taylor was the Zimbabwe hero, he hit 60 off 45 balls and the penultimate ball went for four leg-byes to seal a famous win.

Ponting has just labelled the Australia top order “diabolical”, fair dos, honesty is the best policy.

Apologies for the lack of post recently, have been a busy chappie watching England almost throw away the ODI series against India. Fantastic to win a close series and great to see an England ODI side with promise.

Am very excited about the prospect of the International Twenty20 competition. England have an outside chance, but the head says it’ll probably be another competition win for the Canary Yellows. The timing of this competition is a little odd mind, why play it at the same time as the Rugby World Cup?

It is a crying shame that Fat Boy Spin has since stated he would not be renouncing his Australian citizenship, because it has killed quite a good story! Not least because it would have given ze German national side (currently 20th in the CricketEurope Global Rankings for senior ICC Associate and Affiliate international sides) a chance of rising to tackle the likes of Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong and Afghanistan.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Warne “has always been German to his core”. Great article this by Aaron Timms.

Apparently, click here for them.

They can bat, can bowl and are excellent fielders. However three Aussie academy players have been kicked out because they wouldn’t tidy their bedrooms.

Mark Cosgrove, Aaron Finch and David Warner are to leave the centre following their sanction for “repeated inappropriate treatment of accommodation facilities”.

The Age reports that the trio “were warned several times about a lack of cleanliness and hygiene in their rooms… but their general untidiness continued until complaints from apartments staff filtered back to CA, leading to the suspension.”

You bad boys, go and sit on the naughty step!
